A-Vision Produces Ad Campaign For P&O Ferries

A London-based production company specialising in commercials and corporate films, A-Vision, has announced the completion of P&O Ferries' first TV commercial in ten years.
The commercial, which will be part of an integrated campaign involving TV, radio, press and digital focuses on the concept of putting the pride back into Britain. The advertisements focus on a dog groomer accompanied by the witty taglines "Because you've been working like a dog", a florist with "Because Britain isn't blooming" and butcher with "Because you haven't sold a sausage all year".
The four commercials, which are voiced by Peter Davison, will run on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and play alongside mobile and online promotions.
The radio campaign has been produced in association with A-Vision who recently won Ad of the Quarter on Classic FM for their recent Douwe Egberts commerical.
Shot on 35mm and processed at 2K, the commercial involved both studio and location shooting at Hythe in Kent and on one of P&O's ferries in the Channel using a jimmy jib.
With 31 cast and crew (including a dog), A-Vision were able to bring the quality of shooting on 35mm and the benefits of editing in High Definition together on a keen budget.
The creative concepts were devised by Designate, an independent, Brighton-based agency. Madeleine Higginson, Board Account Director at Designate, commented: "The commercials hinge on the concept of 'Britishness with a twist' by using strong creative and a judicious allocation of humour.
"The message of the commericals is that the British are strong enough to withstand the current financial malaise and that a well-earned holiday is affordable in the meantime - thanks to P&O's special offers."
Andrew Smith, Creative Director of A-Vision, commented: "A-Vision has established a considerable reputation for delivering first class production services at reasonable budgets. We have been fortunate to work with an exceptional team: from Designate, who have proved the power of good creative, to Mark Summers Casting who have been invaluable in delivering the right look and feel."
