SD Transmission Chain Trade-In Offer From OmniBus

OmniBus Systems has announced a trade-in offer for broadcasters looking for a cost-effective way of replacing their legacy transmission chain equipment.
For a limited period, OmniBus is offering a generous trade-in package for a variety of legacy video equipment against an iTX-based system. OmniBus iTX offers enterprise-class, software-based SD/HD transmission and content management facilities, eliminating the need for dedicated broadcast hardware - including video servers, a master control switcher/mixer, an automation system, graphics devices, a character generator, a logo inserter and still stores. iTX integrates easily into existing workflows, simplifying the transition to state-of-the-art, less costly technology, and offers a reduction of up to 50% of conventional capital equipment expense while lowering ongoing operating costs by half, or more.
Mike Oldham, OmniBus Systems Chief Executive Officer, said: "While many broadcasters may want to make this transition to more advanced, flexible and resilient IT-based system such as iTX, they are often faced with limited capital budget or equipment that is not fully depreciated.
"We want to help these customers by providing a financial incentive to modernise and 'HD-ready' their facilities now. We expect to see a number of broadcasters at this year's NAB Show who are interested in taking advantage of this cost-saving offer."
Broadcast facilities seeking to replace legacy video servers and other transmission equipment nearing obsolescence of lacking HD capability with newer hardware-based equivalents will miss the opportunity to create a next-generation infrastructure that delivers increased functionality, greater workflow efficiencies and lower operating costs.
More than 500 channels have now been transitioned to iTX by some of the world's leading broadcasters in demanding and high-profile broadcast applications that are either difficult or impossible to achieve with the previous generation of technology.
iTX offers a quick and easy transition path.
Support for a wide range of video formats and traffic systems, combined with iTX's ability to integrate with existing digital archives, greatly simplifies the migration process and allows broadcasters to streamline their entire workflow for a capital expenditure similar to that required for replacement video servers.
More importantly, because it is a software-based system that runs on commodity HP IT server hardware, iTX delivers a solution that is easily upgradeable to HD and offers complete redundancy for all equipment.
