Special effects conference invite registrations

Special effects conference VFX2002 will run concurrently with the London International Film Festival, the first time the two events have coincided.
Hosted by BKSTS - The Moving Image Society - the three-day conference will be held from November 22 - 24 2002 in the National Film Theatre and at the bfi London IMAX Cinema.
The event promises to provide an insight into the ever-changing crafts and technology of visual effects and to give participants the opportunity to witness these developments by visiting some of London's top facilities houses.
In a year when 'Star Wars', 'Lord of the Rings', 'Die Another Day', 'Tomb Raider' and 'Harry Potter' are reported to be producing internationally acclaimed visual effects work, VFX2002 will once again provide speakers from many of the major productions and programmes in the industry to discuss the developments.
Topics include the CGI work on 'Dinotopia', a look at animation in commercials, reports from Germany, Hong Kong and New Zealand and some informative sessions on new training schemes for the industry.
All this is strongly supported by the ever-popular IMAX programme with a theme this year of 'The Power of Raw Effects' and manipulation of Large Format Images – in particular, the work done on Apollo 13.
