The Media Show name Suter as keynote speaker

The keynote speaker at The Media Show in Cardiff (October 8-9) will be Tim Suter, the Head of Broadcasting Policy at the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.
Suter, a former television producer who worked for the BBC for 15 years, is in charge of shaping the controversial new Communications Bill currently going through Parliament.
Suter will present the case for changing the structure of broadcasting in the UK and has agreed to answer questions from the floor.
The Media Show, a new industry exhibition and conference event, will cover television, video and new media production. There will be free entry for delegates and visitors and a full programme of free seminars.
The exhibition will include manufacturers and distributors as well as a diverse range of services such as costuming, duplication, insurance, streaming media and underwater filming specialists.
Genesis’ Alan Torjussen said: “The free seminars will cover a variety of technical and business subjects with a focus on broadband. There will be seminars covering technical developments, rights in the media and employment law. The association of film libraries, Focal International (which includes BBC, ITN, C4 and National Geographic), are organising a seminar archives access.
“This is a UK show rather than a Welsh show. Exhibitors and visitors will be travelling to Cardiff from all over the UK and a good attendance is expected. We have huge databases, which have been collected over several years listing over 12,000 professionals in the UK. Many companies have already booked exhibition space but there is still some space available.”
The show will include The Media Showcase, where manufacturers, distributors, production companies, facility companies and broadcasters will be able to showcase their work and their latest products.
