OmniTek Delivers 3Gb/s Test Equipment

Innovative test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek, which is exhibiting at Broadcast Video Expo (Stand: 144), has announced it has delivered the new OTM 1000 3Gb/s waveform monitor, signal analyser and generator to its first major customers: Altera, TV Travel Shop and the RAI.
Mike Hodson, President of OmniTek, confirmed: "The OTM 1000 which is being shown for the first time in the UK at Broadcast Video Expo, is now uniquely available to address the needs of design engineers working with the new 3Gb/s SDI signals.
"As a result, it is already receiving significant interest from broadcasters and R&D departments of some of the leading broadcast equipment manufacturers and we are delighted to confirm the delivery of the new system to Altera, TV Travel Shop and the RAI."
Hodson continued: "Until now, finding signals sources and monitoring equipment for the high definition 3Gb/s formats of 1080p50/1080p60 has been an issue. However, the OTM 1000 is now available to monitor the infrastructure needed for 3Gb/s SDI which is already being installed at numerous facilities around the world."
Designed with ease-of-use in mind, the OTM1000 provides reliable, multi-format and multi-channel signal generation plus comprehensive input data analysis capabilities, which is ideal for R&D labs, OB trucks, machine rooms and as a direct replacement for outdated waveform monitors.
The system is compatible with all available single-link and dual-link SDI signals at bit-rates up to and including 3Gb/s. There is also the option to provide full SDI physical layer analysis, including the world's first production 3Gb/s SDI eye pattern display.
