Solid State Logic C100 HD-S Broadcast Consoles Destined For Budapest

Solid State Logic (SSL) has announced the sale of three C100 HD-S broadcast audio consoles, each equipped with the "Blackrock" processor, together with an SSL "MORSE" system, to Duna Televízió (Duna TV) in Hungary.
Duna (meaning "Danube") is a state broadcaster in Hungary which broadcasts news, culture and information from its base in Budapest as well as regional centres in Transylvania, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia and the Ukraine.
A significant part of Duna TV's audience also consists of ex-patriot Hungarians in North America and Australia who access Duna via satellite.
Each of the new consoles utilise SSL's "Blackrock" processor, a new processing core that reduces the size of an associated rack enclosure to a compact 2RU. Additional Blackrock features include a built-in signal routing matrix with 5.3 million crosspoints (2300 sources x 2300 destinations), 40-bit (floating point) internal audio processing resolution and 64-bit internal data bus resolution.
One of the C100 HD-S consoles, a 24+8 fader version will be installed in Duna TV's News Studio. A 40+8 fader frame will be incorporated into Duna's Production Studio.
Duna TV's C100 HD-S consoles will share I/O resources via SSL's popular "Modular Resource Sharing Engine" (MORSE) and associated Stage Boxes, which together provide a extremely reliable, cost-effective and scalable system for audio I/O sharing and managing related control data between multiple studio floors and control rooms.
A third 32+8 fader C100 HD-S is scheduled to be delivered in May for installation in one of Duna TV's OB vehicles.
Duna TV Technical Director Milhaly Bognar said: "We have to ensure that our broadcasts enjoy the best possible sound quality, which is equally as important as the visual quality of our broadcasts. Solid State Logic has long been the acknowledged leader in sonic fidelity and flexibility and these consoles are precisely what we need to achieve the audio quality our viewers expect."
Key to the entire project was Solid State Logic's Hungarian distributor Audiomonde who provided liaison, advice, translation, technical and legal services.
Audiomonde's founder Peter Csillag said: "Our primary task was to represent a professional manufacturer like SSL with a great product like the C100HD-S to Duna TV. I am proud that with our help Duna TV is part of the global SSL broadcast community.
Solid State Logic Area Sales Manager Anthony Gofton added: "Hungary recently launched new DTT series and Duna TV was the first to be distributed on the new multiplex.
"The new DTT service also includes Duna TV in HD, which makes sound quality more vital than ever. We are very pleased to have been chosen to deliver such quality."
