ICON From Scrub Is Natural Selection For Evolutions TV

News Image
Soho independent full service post production facility Evolutions TV has installed a new ICON D-Control ES console at its newly acquired Great Pulteney Street location.
Supplied and supported by audio technology for post specialists Scrub, the new console is intended primarily to enhance the workflow in one of Evolutions' flagship 5.1 dubbing theatres, while integrating seamlessly into a fibre-network of ten dubbing theatres and over 100 on-line and off-line suites, spread across five buildings.
Owen Tyler, Evolutions Operations Director, said: "The combination of Pro Tools and ICON is an established industry standard, and we have found it to be tremendously flexible. We can open up sessions from other studios, swap sessions instantly between all our audio suites and even import sessions straight from our AVID timelines, converting the editor's levels into easily tweaked fader automation as a great starting point for a mix."
Alongside the workflow efficiencies, Evolutions' dubbing mixers are also enjoying the many other benefits of mixing on an ICON.
Tyler continued: "Our mixers love the ICON, particular features like the ability to define custom faders to speed up mixing, the dedicated 5.1 surround monitoring and the customisable soft keys which allow tailoring to each individual mixer's way of working. And last, but not least, the ICON looks fantastic!"
Evolutions and Scrub go back a long way, and happily Owen is able to report another trouble-free installation in this case. He said: "We have had a long and happy relationship with Scrub and have always experienced great service and helpful advice. They are always willing to go the extra mile to help with our extensive equipment needs."
Speaking on behalf of Scrub, Director of Sales Ben Nemes said: "The nature, size and profile of Evolutions and their work means that every creative area needs to be slick and flexible with the correct tools. With Pro Tools and ICON, we are able to provide exactly those benefits."
