Chello Zone Reports Further Success In CEE

Multi-channel operator Chello Zone has confirmed a cluster of new launches and renewals for Chello Zone channels in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
NTV Plus, the largest satellite platform in Russia, with more than 530,000 viewers, is to renew each of its current Zone channel deals. Zone Reality, Zone Romantica, Extreme Sports and Zone Club will all be available on the country's premiere pay-TV platform with all content fully re-versioned into Russian.
In addition to the renewals, NTV Plus has launched the global pre-school channel JimJam, the joint venture between HIT Entertainment and Chellomedia, this month.
Already at home in the Netherlands, where it is now reaching more than one million subscribers, JimJam has further increased its CEE distribution by expanding into Russia and is also expected to grow still further with an imminent launch in Asia.
Building on the back of the strong launch of JimJam in Poland on the N platform, JimJam has successfully secured yet another key DTH affiliate partner in the Central and Eastern European region. Cyfra+ Poland is the latest digital satellite provider to launch Zone Romantica in CEE. The channel recently launched, bringing an additional one million Polish viewers to the channel. Also in Poland, Polsat, the country's largest satellite provider, has signed a three-year renewal deal for Zone Club, Zone Reality, Zone Europa and Zone Romantica. Chello Zone's sports channel, Extreme Sports, also continues to be supplied to Polsat subscribers on a long term contract.
