DCD Rights Wins Sales

A leading UK distributor DCD Rights, formally NBDtv/DCD Media, has secured a raft of sales at MIPCOM 2008 for September Films' much anticipated documentary Pregnant Man (1x60'), and West Park Pictures' documentary series Stephen Fry in America (6x60').
'Pregnant Man' originally commissioned by Channel 4 in the UK, is an exclusive insight into the life of Thomas Beatie, the first man in the world to give birth.
The documentary offers a unique insight into the life of Thomas and his family, beginning with the last few emotional days leading up to the birth, through the proud hospital delivery of Thomas and Nancy's baby girl, and finally the return home after the event to see how the couple cope with their new arrival in the glare of the world's media.
The documentary has been sold to Kanal 5 (Sweden), ProSiebenSat.1 (Germany), TVI (Portugal), TVNZ (New Zealand), Discovery (Latin America), TV2 (Denmark), Yes DBS (Israel), VTM (Belgium), TV Norge (Norway), Sogecable (Spain), Viasat (Baltics), MTV3 (Finland) and Super Channel (Canada).
Stephen Fry travels over 20,000 miles in a London taxi to visit every state in the US in documentary series Stephen Fry In America. Fry takes in the small town life of Independence Day parades, PTA meetings, Summer Camp and cherry-pie bake offs. From Minnesota in winter, where all life takes place underground, to Death Valley, to the Badlands, boondocks and southern plantation houses - each state contains something marvelous and particular to its people, landscapes and urban environments.
The series, commissioned by BBC One, has so far been sold to UKTV, NRK (Norway), Sky (New Zealand), ABC (Australia), Danmarks Radio (Denmark) and YLE (Finland).
