A New Arrival! Little Portman Is Born

Portman Film & Television, part of the Digital Rights Group (DRG), has announced 'Little Portman', a brand new division which has been specifically created to house the range of children's programming it has recently acquired.
The division will be headed up by Head of Co-Productions and Acquisitions, Ankle Stoll.
The first three titles to launch under the Little Portman brand are 'Paradise Cafe', a co-production by Endemol/Initial UK for CBBC and the Gibson Group for TVNZ.
The second, which has also been commissioned by CBBC is 'Sorry, I've Got No Head - Time Trackers', which will air on TVNZ in New Zealand and Channel 7 in Australia. Little Portman will officially launch all three titles at MIPCOM Junior this weekend.
'Paradise Cafe', which airs on CBBC in January is a comedy mystery series for children which combines stunning locations and supernatural tales with themes of friendship, trust and responsibility.
British teens Robbo and Megan arrive in the South Pacific with their marine biologist father and decide to earn some extra pocket money by setting up a beautiful beachfront cafe.
What starts with the promise of a blissed out summer, turns freaky and frightening when the gang unwittingly unleash a variety of mischievous and unpredictable sea ghosts of all ages from every part of the world!
Shot in high definition to wonderfully showcase the vast white sands and aquamarine lagoons of the fabulous Cook Islands location, 'Paradise Cafe' blends mystery, suspense and adventure with an intrinsic range of life lesson themes.
'Sorry, I've Got No Head' is a sketch show for the demanding 8-12-year-old audience who know their comedy, but who have sophisticated tastes. A pre-watershed programme with a mix of live action, comedy and slapstick, it's fast-paced and jam packed with off-beat, silly and inventive characters, including headless burger joint customers and medieval witch-hunters throwing strops in corner shops. The show features a whole host of stellar comedy talent, including Marcus Brigstocke, Mel Giedroyc, Nick Mohammed and Mark Evans.
'Time Trackers' aimed at kids aged 6-10 is an action-packed ride through time via the greatest inventions in history. The programme is set in the future, the present, and various iconic moments of the past and is perfect for the tech-savvy kids of today.
Three teenagers from different eras are on a time-travelling mission to combat viruses planted by a malicious hacker aimed at destroying the greatest inventions of the world. By visiting events throughout history the series is simultaneously educational and fun. The series will air on TVNZ in New Zealand and Channel 7 in Australia.
Anke Stoll Head of Co-Productions and Acquisitions said: "We are delighted to announce our official foray into the kids market with Little Portman. The titles we'll launch at MIPCOM Junior mark a fantastic start to our brand new children's division and we are excited about their prospects on the international stage. We're also looking forward to working with other producers in the kid's arena as we expand our Little Portman slate for the future."
Dave Gibson of Gibson Group, said: "We've been really pleased with Portman's work on our adult drama series, 'The Hothouse' and we're expecting them to do wonderful things with 'Paradise Cafe' and 'Time Trackers'.
Graham Stuart, Co-Founder of SO Television, said: "'Sorry I've Got No Head' is a key show for So Television and our first kids series for the BBC. We are delighted to have established this new relationship with Portman Film & TV. The characters and humour in the show in the show are universal and I am sure that kids all over the world will appreciate our unique comedy."
