Akamai Accelerates Rich And Interactive Global Publishing Content For PageSuite

Akamai Technologies, a subsidiary of Akamai Technologies, a leading company powering rich media, dynamic transactions and enterprise applications online, has announced that it is supporting PageSuite Limited, a UK-based web-based design and software application development company, to deliver a faster and more consistent intelligent publishing service to its worldwide magazine, newspaper and publishing clients.
PageSuite aims to enhance the delivery and user experience of digital publications through its page-turning software, PageSite Professional, and provide a cost-effective solution that accelerates the online presence of its customer base, including many of the industry's leading corporations, newspaper and magazine publishers, schools and sports clubs.
To support its rapid growth, PageSuite is leveraging Akamai's rich media acceleration capabilities to underpin its PageSuite Professional solution, an interactive software application for creating digital editions and in use by seven of the top 10 UK regional press publisher.
With PageSuite Professional enabling Internet users to access, browse and interact with all kinds of editorial content and advertising material without the need to download additional software, Akamai's ability to accelerate rich media content assists PageSuite in quickly delivering these digital publications to both its domestic and international readers.
Akamai's technology will help accelerate the delivery of rich interactive content enclosed in customers' publications, which in turn assists its clients with meeting today's consumer expectations for a fast-loading, always available digital edition, regardless of the number of images, amount of dynamically-generated content or Internet conditions.
Akamai's technology will enable PageSuite to guarantee faster loading pages and applications that will in turn improve the audience experience, driving repeat visits and securing a competitive edge. Through increased consumption, due to the improved experience, typical page views are expected to increase between 5-10% and drive the incremental ad revenue uplift for PageSuite's customers.
Nathan Parrett, Managing Director at PageSuite, said: "We pride ourselves in not only being a supplier, but also a partner to our clients, and customer support is a significant aspect of the service we provide.
"In turn, we needed a trusted partner with a consistent track record for reliability and performance. We are confident Akamai will be able to keep pace as our business needs increase.
"Akamai is an expert service provider - we are secure in the knowledge that our publications will be delivered over a quality distribution platform that helps us reach our extensive global audience."
Commenting on the partnership, Alex Gibbons, Director of Digital Media Europe at Akamai, said: "We are delighted that PageSuite has selected Akamai to deliver its PageSuite Professional application.
"Akamai has the unrivalled ability to accelerate and enhance the delivery of the rich and interactive elements of PageSuite's solution that are fundamental to ensuring publishers and consumers alike experience the full benefit of their innovative and rapidly growing technology."
