Turkey Takes To C4i Comedy

Leading distributor C4i, part of the Digital Rights Group, has secured a substantial deal with DSmart in Turkey for a range of top UK produced comedy and entertainment programming, it has been announced by Christina Willoughby, Managing Director.
The deal, brokered by C4i Sales Executive Nicola Richards, will see more than 45 hours of programming broadcast in Turkey via DSmart, the fast-growing digital satellite platform launched in 2007 by Dogan TV Holding. This includes fifteen series and specials from award-winning, inimitable master of psychological illusion, Derren Brown, such as 'Derren Brown: Messiah', 'Derren Brown: Mind Control' and 'Derren Brown: Trick of the Mind'.
Also in the deal are three series of 'Star Stories' raising laughs and ruffling feathers in equal measure as the closely guarded world of celebrity and the lives and loves of Hollywood actors and international pop stars get satirically reconstructed and all series of 'Trigger Happy TV', featuring Dom Joly taking to the streets to bring carnage, chaos and outrageous comedy wherever he goes.
Three series of 'Black Books', the sitcom written by Perrier Award-winner Dylan Moran and 'Father Ted' writer Graham Linehan from Assembly Film & TV Ltd, are heading to Turkey. Starring Bill Bailey, Tamsin Greig and Dylan Moran, 'Black Books' follows the antics of the foul tempered and wildly eccentric bookshop owner Bernard Black (Moran) who does not understand the ordinary world and has created his own safe haven within the grubby confines of his shop.
Completing the deal are 'Rude Tube', a top 50 countdown from October Films Ltd of the funniest, rudest and most bizarre video clips that have taken the internet by storm and 'Love In The 21st Century', a savagely comic exploration of sex and love from Red Production Company Ltd, featuring morality tales that take an honest look at the trials and tribulations of falling in love.
