Robin Hood Star To Lay Down His Bow

Jonas Armstrong, the actor who plays Robin Hood in the BBC remake of the classic tale, has announced that he is leaving the show at the end of series three.
Armstrong, 23, who is currently filming in Budapest said playing the charismatic rogue was "an incredible experience" but he was looking for "new challenges".
"I'm grateful to the fans for their support and to all the cast and crew for their friendship and loyalty throughout," he said.
Foz Allen, Executive Producer said: "Jonas has been a superb Robin Hood who updated the legend for a contemporary audience, reinvigorating it for a whole new generation.
"It has been a wonderful experience working with Jonas – we will miss him – and wish him all the success for his future.
"We cannot confirm the series climax nor can we guarantee who will survive and who won't. You will have to watch it to see! But we can assure you Robin's exit will be unmissable!"
Series three will see Robin "older and tougher" and "hell bent on revenge" following the tragic murder of his lover, Maid Marian by Gisborne and the Sheriff's failure to kill Prince John.
Friar Tuck will also join the Sherwood Forest clan and become one of Robin's closest allies.
Robin Hood will screen on BBC One for 13 episodes in 2009.
