Eyeheight Reports Successful Broadcast Asia 2008

Eyeheight, designers of multi-format broadcast equipment, reports a buoyant Broadcast Asia 2008 Exhibition with exceptionally strong international attendance. Held in Singapore between June 17 - 20, the show attracted a high level of interest in the company's range of multi-definition and Master Control equipment.
Eyeheight Sales Director Martin Moore said: "Broadcast Asia confirmed for us that the broadcast market in this region is very healthy. Impending HD coverage of the Beijing Olympics has made broadcasters throughout South East Asia very conscious of the need to be able to handle HD and archived SD content within a single operating environment.
"Our new AR-2SD standard-definition and AR-2MD multi-definition aspect ratio converters made their first South East Asia appearance. They allow 4:3 content to be switched between 16:9, 15:9 and 14:9 letterbox, 4:3 full frame and 2.35 or 1.85 anamorphic formats. A flexible zoom mode permits source video to be compressed and expanded horizontally and vertically for unusual applications. Both models include digital noise reduction."
Also introduced at Broadcast Asia was the SA-2U 4:4:4 dual-linkable safe-area generator, designed for SD, HD-SDI, multi-definition (single-link) and 2K (dual-link) post-production applications. The SA-2U generates safe-action graticules, safe title and centre markers (short and full screen) for all common TV and film formats. Additional features include three safe-area cursor generators with full user control of cursor colour, transparency and type as well as specialised functions for text height and aspect ratio measurement. The SA-2U can also be used as a blanking generator. A Microsoft.NET platform application enables custom cursor configuration.
Making its Asia exhibition debut, Eyeheight's AS-2MD multi-definition audio shuffler simplifies the task of re-assigning embedded audio channels within an HD-SDI or SD-SDI feed. A second input allows embedded audio to be extracted from one feed and added to alternative video from another. It additionally permits audio breakaway of any source if installed on an HD-SDI router. A preview output is provided.
Also on display was Eyeheight's new L1-1DM multi-definition logo inserter, displayed with dual independent logo generators and dual independent keyers on one card with 12 channels in a 1U chassis. The L1-1DM allows HD or SD logos to be uploaded to flash memory, monitored and controlled via Ethernet. Each channel can accommodate logos in any common format including 1080i, 1080p25, 1080p30, 720p, 625 and 525 SDI.
