Jampro To Provide Antenna Systems To India's CTI

Jampro Antennas of Sacramento, a leading supplier of antennas, combiners & filters and RF components, has announced that the company has been awarded additional contracts to provide turnkey FM antenna systems to India's Common Transmission Infrastructure (CTI).
Jampro has already supplied systems to nearly half of the CTI sites and has been awarded contracts for the majority of broadcast markets. The current phase includes building high-power FM sites in India's largest and most critical markets, Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. CTI is the Indian government's plan to build a shared infrastructure for 240 privately owned FM radio stations across the country.
The project's systems integrator, Broadcast Consultants India Ltd, (BECIL) selected Jampro equipment following a history that dates back to the initial stages of the project. Jampro FM systems were chosen for more than half of the common transmission structure build-out of the CTI sites and has now accommodated a majority of the final portion of the project's second stage with its highest power systems. BECIL ordered Jampro model JADP cavity-based FM broadband antenna systems, for the key high-power markets. These systems include multi-bay antennas, Jampro model RCCC balanced combiners, RCPU-Q patch panels and unitised switch frames, Jampro Proline rigid transmission line and associated RF components. In total, Jampro equipment will be used by well over 100 FM stations during the nationwide upgrade effort.
Jampro's JADP cavity-backed premium broadband antennas incorporate a wide-band element to excite a cavity resonator for maximum beam control. The design has low windload characteristics, low VSWR, uniform pattern and axial ratio across a wide band of frequencies. The feed system includes dry air pressurised power dividers, feed baluns and flexible copper coax cables.
Jampro has served as a constant source of broadcast systems in India for both television and FM radio. Jampro's unparalleled worldwide experience in providing broadband systems/solutions dating back to 1970 underscored the company's ability to optimise performance for these recent installations.
Established in 1995, BECIL is an Indian government enterprise under Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is a consultant, system integrator and turnkey solution provider in the areas of broadcast engineering and information technology. BECIL plays an important role in establishing FM radio station, setting up the CTI and monitoring FM content for adherence to guidelines.
