Fifi And Roary Return To The Voice & Music Company

Audio post production facility The Voice And Music Company has started work on the second series of 'Roary The Racing Car', a stop frame animated children's television series produced by Chapman Entertainment.
The Voice And Music Company directors Kim Goody and Alan Coates are composing new songs for the series, all of which are being recorded at the Soho Square facility.
The company's main studio one is also being used to record the voices of the characters and narrators, including Peter Kay who takes on the role of Roary's chief mechanic Big Chris.
Keith Chapman, Creative Director of Chapman Entertainment, said: "Kim and Alan have been involved with Roary The Racing Car from the outset and have composed some fantastic songs that really capture the imagination of our young audiences.
"They are incredibly talented and are always my first choice for composition, not just because they understand what children want but also because of the standard of their productions.
"This series is the first we have undertaken in The Voice And Music Company's new facility and we're really looking forward to the voice recording sessions because the new studios are brilliant."
Series two of 'Roary The Racing Car' involves 52 new episodes, matching the number created for series one, which is currently being shown on Five's Milkshake! and Nick Jr. It is due to be completed in early 2009 and will be broadcast in the UK and in other key territories around the world.
As well as tackling composition, ADR and voice recording for 'Roary The Racing Car', The Voice And Music Company is also creating new songs and sound effects for the UK stage show of 'Fifi And The Flowertots', another popular children's animated series created by Chapman Entertainment.
Kim Goody and Alan Coates have been involved in composition and voice recording for the Fifi programmes since the character was first created and were the obvious choice to handle songs and sound effects for the theatrical tour, which begins on July 19 in Leatherhead, Surrey, before travelling to 50 other venues around the country.
Kim Goody said: "We are delighted to be part of this project, which will bring an entirely new dimension to one of our favourite children's characters. We are also thrilled that the animated version of Roary has come back to us for series two because everyone here loves the characters and really enjoys working with the voices, especially Peter Kay."
Chapman Entertainment, which recently established its own animation facility in Manchester, is also working on the development of a new adult animation pilot and, once again, The Voice And Music Company, will be part of the team as Chapman Entertainment has already specified studio one as its first choice for all voice recordings.
