Malcolm Venville Begins Shooting '44 Inch Chest'

Therapy Films have announced that commercials director Malcolm Venville began shooting his first feature film, '44 Inch Chest', two weeks ago.
'44 Inch Chest', the latest script from acclaimed writers Louis Mellis and David Scinto ('Sexy Beast') features an all-star cast that includes Ray Winston, Tom Wilkinson, John Hurt, Ian McShane, Stephen Dillane and Steven Berkoff. The film is being produced by the award-winning teams behind 'Babel' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'.
Venville describes '44 Inch Chest' as a love story driven by revenge, kidnap and betrayal. Ray Winstone plays a cuckold whose friends plot the kidnapping of his wife's lover in an attempt to restore his wounded ego.
Shooting is due to finish in mid-July, when Venville will resume commercials directing, with release scheduled for 2009.
Commenting on the film, Venville said: "It's a gangster film, but it deals with complex issues like love, revenge and redemption. The script is strong and we are privileged to have the cast to execute it."
Therapy MD Barry Hughes added: "Malcolm's natural propensity for developing striking aesthetics is well-known and respected within commercials circles. We are all 100% behind him and cannot wait to see it translated onto the big screen."
