JLCooper Makes The Grade At Live From Abbey Road

Live From Abbey Road begins a new 12 part series for Channel 4 in June with a line-up of artists as diverse as Mary J Blige, Herbie Hancock and Stereophonics.
Filmed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and produced by Peter Van Hooke and Michael Gleeson, the shows will feature three tracks from the artists mixed with interviews. Van Hooke explained: "The last series was shown in over 120 countries and we are hoping for the same coverage this time."
Each programme is edited using Apple's Final Cut Studio 2 and graded with its partner application Color. Speed is naturally of the essence in the edit suite, so Live From Abbey Road has chosen JLCooper's Eclipse CX to speed up the workflow in Color.
The Eclipse's triple tracker ball and ring configuration offers the grader the precision that is not available using only a keyboard and mouse, the rotaries provide quick access to the Color parameters and the JLCooper jog/shuttle swiftly takes the user to the clip required.
The Eclipse CX integrates fully with Color and can be used in Final Cut Pro, Sountrack Pro and Motion too. There are 41 assignable buttons and transport keys and JLCooper offers its own downloadable software mapping application adding user programmability to the standard Color key assignments.
