BroadcastAsia Products Previewed

BroadcastAsia 2008 sees the debut of new features in the SysMedia InFILE product range.
InFILE-TS now has the ability to take a DVB transport stream file and a standard WinCAPS subtitle file and insert DVB-compliant subtitle data to produce a new transport stream file containing embedded subtitles as well.
The latest version of InFILE now supports DVB bitmap subtitles in SD and HD resolutions, enabling its use for almost any language. Previously it was restricted to European DVB teletext subtitles.
InFILE-TS is designed for IPTV and other VOD applications where assets exist as pre-encoded transport stream files.
It is a software-only solution to the otherwise difficult problem of adding DVB subtitles to digital assets and ensuring proper synchronisation.
The software approach saves the cost of specialist subtitle insertion hardware and the time and effort that would otherwise be spent playing out and then re-encoding video assets.
SysMedia will also be highlighting its comprehensive WinCAPS subtitle preparation suite of products that provides all the flexibility and speed of production that modern users require.
It allows the creation of open or closed caption subtitles for any programme (live or offline), in any format and any language.
SysMedia's interactive TV content management and production system for digital teletext and information feeds, red-button services, interactive advertising, video mosaics and programme-enhancing real-time sports data will be on show.
Gold delivers to any platform including broadcast TV, web, mobile, IPTV and digital signage. The scalable and easy-to-use package is used by leading interactive TV providers worldwide because it avoids applications authoring and is proven to reduce time to market.
BroadcastAsia – the region's premier broadcasting event - will be held in Singapore at Singapore Expo from 17 - 20 June 2008. A truly international event, BroadcastAsia attracted a total of 16,370 attendees last year, with about 50% from overseas.
With the convergence of broadcasting technology and communications, the broadcasting, multimedia and entertainment industries are set to embrace new industry trends.
As a proven platform in Asia Pacific for companies to showcase their latest digital multimedia technologies, BroadcastAsia is geared to bring together industry professionals and leaders to network, build alliance, purchase and leverage on industry information.
