Brick House Video Launches Syntax Up/Cross Converter

Brick House Video, a broadcast video design and manufacturing company based in the south of England, presented the full production version of its broadcast specification Syntax up/cross-converter at NAB 2008 in Las Vegas.
The manufacturer has added the TV Technology STAR award-winning 1RU unit to its affordable range of compact and cost-effective video equipment for production, editing and post-production applications.
Based on advanced Super-Resolution Bandlet Technology, Syntax brings the performance advantages of motion-compensated processing without the associated disadvantages of high cost and occasionally severe artifacts. Syntax incorporates comprehensive audio facilities and offers up-conversion and cross-conversion with SDI I/O, analog inputs, noise reduction and ARC facilities.
The combination of quality and extremely attractive price point makes Syntax an unbeatable proposition.
Brick House Video is also displaying its suite of existing products including the Callisto-R, a rack-mount 8-input, dual frame store synchroniser SDI switcher with DSK and composite inputs and separate control panel, the Callisto-P portable 6-input dual frame store synchroniser SDI switcher with DSK and optional composite inputs, and the Callisto-F rack-mount SDI switcher for automation systems.
Also on show at NAB was the TV Technology STAR award-winning Proteus motion-adaptive standards converter in both portable and rack-mount forms.
With a full complement of video and audio I/O in both the digital and analog domains, Proteus is finding a wide variety of applications both in the field and in fixed installations, and the added feature of a full ten seconds of variable audio delay offers a compact and affordable solution to industry concerns over lip-sync errors.
Brick House Video specialises in the manufacture of compact and cost-effective equipment for production and post-production including analogue and digital switchers, standards conversion, time code logging equipment and VTR controllers.
