Jutland Avenue Calls On KMR Audio

Audio consultancy and equipment supplier KMR Audio Ltd was the company that producer Jay Kyon turned to when assembling his brand new studio, Jutland Avenue, in Battersea.
The young Los Angeles-based entrepreneur, who hails from California, has already tasted success with his Los Angeles-based Roadstarr Specialists bodyshop, customising supercars for some of the biggest names in the US.
Jay's company, Jutland Avenue, owns the recording studio and also Jutland Music, which is the record company that markets some of the studio's output.
The studio has already attracted the attention of hip-hop artist Akon and several other big names, although Jay is keen to point out that it is not just a hip-hop studio, but has already catered to all kinds of pop, indie rock and dance acts as well.
When building the studio, Jay was able to source a large amount to panelling and acoustic treatment from the auctioning off of Eden Studios, which also provided the Pro Tools system and some of the outboard. For the core of the studio, the console and monitors, Jay turned to Niki Melville-Rogers at KMR Audio for advice.
Jay said: "Niki was really great to me. He was so helpful and advised me on everything from the equipment to the location of the studio. He helped choose the building, making sure it was in an area that would be ideal for London musicians and production companies. It has plenty of free parking and is away from any residential homes meaning we can operate 24 hours a day."
KMR Audio supplied the SSL AWS900+ 24 channel console with total recall and awsomotion as well as the main KRK monitoring. The vocal booth has a classic AKG 414B vocal mic also supplied by KMR Audio as well as a vintage Neumann U87. Recording is to Pro Tools HD with a wide range of plug-ins as well as outboard effects.
Jutland Avenue Studios is unique, intimate and comfortable. It has a fully fitted lounge and kitchen and is in a great location, with amazing views of the River Thames, great bars and restaurants nearby as well as Battersea Park being just a few steps away. There are easy bus links and it is within ten minutes of Victoria, South Kensington and Sloane Square stations.
