Harris Power Playout For Irish Broadcaster

Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, has installed two Zandar FusionPro+ multiviewers at TV3, Ireland's largest commercial television broadcaster. The FusionPro+ systems are being used to power TV3's playout control room in Dublin.
The systems combine video and audio sources that provide a critical hub for all of TV3's non-live transmissions at the television station. "The FusionPro+ multiviewers are extremely modular and provide us with tremendous flexibility for combining video and audio in our playout services area," said José de Freitas, chief engineer at TV3. "The FusionPro+ system's ability to monitor multiple input sources allows us to easily manage our workflow and centralize our monitoring requirements."
At TV3, the FusionPro+ systems are used to monitor 20 SDI and six PAL video source inputs, combining discrete analogue audio with embedded audio. The sources are fed onto four 46-inch displays using the Zandar Dual Head (ZdH) functionality.
The FusionPro+ multiviewers form part of Harris Corporation's newly extended family of multiviewers, following the company's acquisition of Zandar Technologies in November 2007. Now part of the broadest multiviewer range on the market today, the FusionPro+ system is available in a 1RU (up to 8 channels) or 3RU model (up to 26 channels).
