Zeal Entertainment Sets Green Challenge For MIP-TV

Format and events programming distributor Zeal Entertainment, part of the Digital Rights Group (DRG), have announced that they will offer the brand new environmentally friendly format 'The Power Play' to international buyers at MIP-TV.
Presenting an ingenious way to promote a greener way of living, 'The Power Play' challenges two cities to reduce CO2 emissions and simultaneously save the maximum amount of money.
Over the course of six weekly episodes, teams from both cities battle it out through a series of environmental challenges culminating in a studio-based grand final.
Originally devised by NRK and Mediacircus, Zeal Entertainment has international format rights for the show (excluding Norway).
The city teams, consisting of one family, one large cornerstone company, the city's football team and its mayor, will be presented with tasks from the Power Play box - including using as little electricity as possible, cutting their consumption and finding smart transport solutions.
They will be assessed and rated throughout the competition by the experts on The Climate Panel, a researcher calculating their CO2 emissions and a group of students.
Each programme is interspersed with factual reports on climate change as well as providing vital tips on living a greener lifestyle.
At the end of the series, the two teams come together in the studio for the grand final - finding out who has done the most to improve their world, and who has won the top prize!
Andrea Jackson, Managing Director of Zeal Entertainment, said: "This is a fantastically timely format for international broadcasters as countries throughout the world wake up to the impact of climate change and look for ways to promote greener lifestyles in a fun, entertaining and educational format. We are delighted to offer this title at MIP-TV, where environmental issues are already high on the agenda."
Zeal Entertainment handles a range of internationally successful properties, including: 'The Singing Bee', 'What's The Big Idea', 'Under Construction' and 'Fashion Rocks'.
Zeal represents rights for creators and rights holders including: The Gurin Company, 12 Yard, TV2 Norway, So Television, Mast Media and Wall to Wall.
