New Category Announced For The Conch Awards
UK Screen Association has announced a new commercial category for The Conch Awards 2008. Commercial Facility of the Year is a new award introduced for 2008, which will compliment the Commercial of the Year category that has been a highly competitive award for The Conch, ever since the events conception in 2006.
The Conch Awards reflect the contribution made by UK facilities, staff and projects to the art of audio post-production in film, TV and commercials. This year the event will take place on Thursday 25th September at The Mayfair Hotel, London, with over 350 industry professionals attending the event every year.
The new Commercial Facility of the Year award has been introduced for 2008, after a call from professionals for the commercial industry to be more heavily involved in the awards this year.
"The commercial industry is full of extremely talented individuals and facilities," said Gaynor Davenport, CEO of UK Screen. "We wanted to recognise that by incorporating a new award this year, specifically for those people, and to accommodate the high number of nominations that we received last year for the Commercial of the Year award."
Nominations are now open online for The Conch Awards 2008 so to nominate your favourite facility and commercial of the year, visit: conch.ukscreenassociation.co.uk/home by 30 May 2008.
