Films @ 59 Purchase Second Film Master

Digital Vision has announced that leading Bristol-based post facility Films @ 59 has finalised the purchase of its second Film Master colour grading system.
“A second Film Master gives us flexibility between our grading suites, and allows us to accommodate any schedule changes and requirements more easily,” said Post Production Manager, George Panayiotou. “Our clients are now seeing grading as more and more a key part of their programme and are focusing their efforts on, and allocating more of their budget to it, so we are seeing demand growing all the time.”
Films @ 59 has used the Film Masters on projects as diverse as Oz and James’s Big Wine Adventure, Sport Relief and The Natural World.
The Bristol area of the UK, with its tremendous heritage in natural history and documentary programming, is a highly competitive market. Thus facilities such as Films @ 59 hunt for USPs to differentiate themselves from their competition.
"Because of the Resize tool you can bring SD material in and upconvert it, for instance,” Panayiotou said. “You can create all your deliverables out of the system, you can create a 4:3 pan and scan version... It’s all very doable out of the Film Master. It’s a very multi-functional bit of kit.”
”We are extremely pleased that Films @ 59 has purchased a second machine from us,” added Simon Cuff, President and COO, Digital Vision, ”and it is good to see the full functionality of Film Master being exploited to the maximum on the tight turnaround jobs that the company specialises in.”
