ITV Splash Out On HD Cams For Emmerdale
ITV Productions are to invest £500k on new HD cameras and lenses for their flagship soap, ‘Emmerdale’.
Current studio cameras will be upgraded with 8 Ikegami High Definition Cameras, fully supported by High Definition Canon Box lenses providing ‘prime lens’ style focus pulls.
Nick Sanders, Project Manager of Continuing Drama in the North said: “We acquired high definition to future proof our investment.
“They have the ability to switch to high definition as and when required. Ikegami were able to offer us the best solutions in terms of functionality, level of support and cost.”
The move is the first step in upgrading Emmerdale to a tapeless/HD workflow. Installation is expect to take place in April.
