ITV Departure For Godfrey
Jim Godfrey, ITV’s director of corporate affairs is leaving the broadcaster to set up his own PR agency.
Godfrey’s new agency will specialise in political campaigns and branding and will have ITV as its first client when the new company launches this summer.
Godfrey’s exit comes as the new ITV Group Corporate Affairs Director, Mark Gallagher, introduces a major overhaul of communications and corporate strategy activities.
Gallagher who joined the broadcaster last autumn, is expected to beef up ITV’s corporate lobbying and PR activities.
Godfrey, 33, is a former special adviser to Patricia Hewitt when she was trade and industry secretary, with other roles that included being director of communications for leading thinktank, the Institute for Public Policy Research.
