Granada International Sells 'Heartbeat' To VRT

Granada International has sold long-running hit drama Heartbeat to Belgian broadcaster VRT, it has been announced by Nadine Nohr, Managing Director.
VRT, Belgium’s state broadcaster, will air the award-winning series three times a week on its main channel Een from February 2008.
Jean-Philip De Tender, Channel Manager for Een commented: “We are delighted to have acquired such a successful series from Granada International. Its great storylines and blend of romance and period styling make it a much loved show wherever it airs. We are looking forward to sharing the series with our viewers in Belgium.”
Andre Renaud, Sales Executive at Granada International, who brokered the deal added: “I am thrilled that Heartbeat has found its natural home in Belgium on Een. This fantastic family drama has a wide appeal and I am certain of its success for VRT.”
A warm-hearted soft crime drama series set in a beautiful countryside community against the mood and music of the swinging 60’s. Based on the Constable books by Nicholas Rhea, Heartbeat combines humour, compelling characters and breathtaking scenery, and is one of the UK’s most successful drama series. The action centres around a team of local police officers who have to solve a string of crimes whilst also dealing with local loveable rogues and their own love lives. The most recent casting on the show is charismatic Scottish actor Joe McFadden (Sparkhouse) who plays policeman Joe Mason.
