Simply Media Awards Major Playout Contract To ABS

Simply Media has selected Advanced Broadcast Services to play out three of its popular television channels to the Sky satellite television platform. The channels involved are Simply TV, Simply Shopping and the affiliated TV Warehouse which Simply Media manages on behalf of TV Network Ltd.
The Simply TV channel established itself as a successful online TV channel before expanding onto Sky. It showcases a selection of content from Simply Media's panoply of web-streamed properties including Avenue 11, The Baby Channel, Beauty Zone TV, Book Zone, Gardening TV, Health Zone and Simply Entertainment.
"Simply Media is one of the most enterprising television companies," said ABS Managing Director Sass Jahani. "Its management team has a good understanding of mainstream broadcasting and has proved the viability of the internet as a development base for new multimedia concepts which can then be cross-promoted to satellite-oriented viewers or matured into full-scale broadcast channels. These are very innovative business models which we are very pleased to be asked to support."
"Advanced Broadcast Services is an impressive operation," adds Simply Media CEO Henry Scott. "Sass Jahani and his colleagues operate a very efficient archiving and playout facility which combines high technical and operational standards with experienced management."
Located at Park Royal, West London, Advanced Broadcast Services has been involved in the satellite TV sector since 1991. The company is Britain's leading low-cost fully-managed provider of playout, transmission and broadcast facilities. The playout operations centre currently supports 40 television channels, staffed by a team of fully qualified technical and operational personnel using ultra-modern equipment and facilities.
Simply Media is one of the UK's leading digital entertainment providers. The company produces, aggregates and distributes video content across multiple platforms. The company operates more than 25 digital TV channels and is bringing the best online video entertainment to a wider audience via its web portal and IPTV platform. The company currently distributes thousands of hours of programming over satellite, cable and broadband internet. Clients include Emap, iVillage (NBC Universal), Yahoo, and Warner Time Life. The company also produces and owns a number of media properties including The Baby Channel, a joint venture with RDF Media, Simply.tv, a female lifestyle video portal, and Golfbug.tv , a leading Internet golf channel.
