Portaprompt To Showcase Prompting Software At Broadcast Video Forum

Portaprompt the award winning manufacturers of the lowest priced professional prompting software the UK market has to offer has since 1976 been hiring and selling the lightest and brightest Portable Prompting equipment through innovative design, research and development.
Launching in the UK this year at Broadcast Video Forum 2008 is the new 10” Quasar ultra bright and ultra light TFT colour on camera teleprompter unit. The new 10” complements the other four sizes of the Quasar range 12”, 15”, 17” & 20” (up to 2000 Nits & 100-250volts AC 12VDC).
Designed without a fan for silent running and suitable for location, studio and virtual studio use. Lightweight therefore ideal for robotic head mounting with an improved on-camera tilt range. Automatic PAL/NTSC signal detection with auto-terminating BNC loop-through and VGA input. The flat panel displays have been engineered to obtain the very highest brightness and contrast. The displays are suitable for on-camera prompting units, conference glass stand units or direct reading monitors.
The Quasar range ultra bright teleprompters are fitted with very high brightness backlights making them totally suitable for outside use. Turning down the brightness for indoor use reduces power consumption.
Also showcasing for the first time in the UK is the New innovative Quantum Digi Plate rigged on the Panasonic AW-PH 405 Robotic Head. This new Universal Quantum Plate represents a leap forward in prompter rigging design, allowing Portaprompt to rig easily all their Quasar and Premium prompters from 10.4” to 20” with small cameras like the Sony PD170, Z1 and the Panasonic convertible cameras. The design encompasses all that is great about Portaprompt’s "Keep it Simple, Fit for Purpose" philosophy.
The Quantum Plate has the display, hood, hood stay anchor, the camera mount and a telescoping counter balance weight all integrated into the package. Simple to operate and understand, it will be the design others will envy. The Quantum Plate with its narrow footprint is ideal for rigging on lightweight and standard tripods and with all sizes of robotic heads and robotic post heads from Vinten, Shotoku and Panasonic.
