Network's Flashlink optical system receives German vote

Germany's recent Federal Elections were delivered live to viewers via Network Electronics' Flashlink optical transmission transport system.
Flashlink served as the transmission link between headquarters of the Social Democrats, the Christian Democrats and numerous Television Stations.
Working in conjunction with managed network solutions provider Colt Telecom and Berlin-based Pool TV, Network Electronics configured the Flashlink system around transparent digital video transmission with embedded audio.
The Flashlink system was selected due to its minimum installation requirements and its reputation for reliability. With Flashlink the cameras are directly connected to the fibre optical ports in the production centres, eliminating the need for costly camera control units.
