Camera Corps Invest In Leader Software

Camera Corps Ltd, one of Britain's leading OB support facilities, has invested in a Leader LV5800 HD/SD-SDI multi-standard waveform monitor. The LV5800 was purchased via Thameside, UK partner of elQuip BV, broadcast master distributor for Leader Electronics Corporation in Europe.
"Camera evaluation and maintenance are a vital part of our activity," commented Jim Daniels, Technical Director at Camera Corps. "We attended the NAB2007 Convention in April to look both at new production kit and at the latest generation of test equipment. Leader was exhibiting its LV5800 analyser which offers 1080p HD signal handling via a dual link interface and can also display eye patterns.
"The LV5800 is modular so is configurable to meet current requirements with the option of adding further facilities if and when the need arises. It has proved an excellent investment and one we are delighted to recommend to anyone else involved in camera testing."
"The ongoing transition from SD to HD is clearly reflected in the evolving purchase strategies of programme-makers and broadcasters, not least in test equipment," added Paul Vos, elQuip BV Managing Director.
"The LV5800's modularity is proving particularly popular in today's world of multiple television origination and transmission formats. Broadcasting is a more fluid and faster-growing industry than ever with new services such as IP-based video-on-demand and cellular mobile television coming online. We have in the LV5800 a future-proof platform for a fast-changing world."
Leader's LV5800 enables multiple SDI or HD-SDI sources to be studied simultaneously. Eight sources can be monitored at once using automatic alarm settings to sense level, rise time, fall time and jitter.
Four channels can be displayed simultaneously. Automatic signal detection enables the LV5800 to sense the input format, colorimetry and black burst or tri-level external reference input. User presets can be stored on a standard USB memory which will also hold screen images, configuration settings and software/firmware updates.
Founded in 1997, Camera Corps has earned a high reputation for project-managing large OB contracts involving multiple venues and in dealing with the unique demands of international host broadcasters. The company provides speciality camera equipment to multi-camera sports events, natural programmes such as 'Badger Watch', and reality TV shows including 'Fame Academy', 'Hell's Kitchen' and 'House of Tiny Tearaways'. Over 90 remotely controllable HD cameras are being provided by Camera Corp for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
