Frontniche Supply ITN With Vutrix Network Controlled Integrated Quad TFT LCD’s

ITN, one of the world’s leading news and multimedia content companies, has taken delivery of the Vutrix 26” Integrated Quad LCD for its two new production galleries (PCR1 & PCR2).
The new LCD PCR replaces the previous CRT based unit which can display 72 sources of SD/HD video.
The project is part of an ongoing program which follows the upgrade of PCR6 and ITN’s Millbank studio.
Vutrix have provided also the network protocol for the control of MENU, UMD and TALLY.
Customised software has been designed by ITN consultants to integrate this protocol into a user friendly system, within the existing ITN system, used by ITN’s gallery production staff. As ITN’s production gallery will be used from time to time by companies associated to ITN, the requirement to change settings such as Aspect Ratio, Colour Temperature, UMD and store/retrieve these settings at the touch of button was a critical design factor. Settings are adjusted by a mimic display of the production stack.
The Integrated Quad technology is unique in its design, specifically due to the allocation of a separate video processor for each I/P. This enables individual control of each quad segment as if it were a separate monitor, it allows any video format to be displayed (Auto detects 1080, 720, 625, 525, 50/60Hz I or P) simultaneously and, as all the video processors are in ‘parallel’, the processing delay is kept to the absolute minimum and cannot exceed 1.5 frames.
