Chello Zone To Supply Further Content To Joost

Chello Zone (formerly Zonemedia) has confirmed it will supply further content from its channel bouquet to Joost, the world’s first broadcast quality internet television service.
Content from flagship channels Zone Reality and Zone Horror will now be available on Joost’s IPTV platform. From Zone Reality series one of Psychic Private Eyes – the first show commissioned by Chello Zone – and other titles such as Haunted Houses and Disasters of the Century can be accessed across a number of key territories worldwide. Zone Horror has made available cult programming such as the Grindhouse titles and the successful CUT! short films.
Yvette Alberdingk Thijm, Executive Vice President, Content Strategy and Acquisition for Joost commented: "We are delighted to be expanding our relationship with Chello Zone by selecting material from Zone Horror and Zone Reality to join that of the Extreme Sports Channel. The programming from Extreme has been well received and we’re sure the new shows will be a great addition to our line-up."
Tanya Gugenheim, Chello Media’s Chief Business Development and New Media officer added: "It is great to be developing our business with Joost, one of the world leaders in IPTV. This additional exposure acts as a natural extension to our channel’s linear distribution.
"Our programming fits extremely well in the multi-platform space and we’re pleased to offer more of our content to Joost’s growing audiences."
Founded by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström, Joost combines the best of TV and the best of the internet by offering viewers the experience of sight, sound and motion enhanced with the choice, control and flexibility of Web 2.0. Joost is the first online, global distribution platform, bringing together advertisers, content owners and viewers in an interactive, community-driven environment.
