Emmy Nominations Announced

Nominations for the 35th International Emmy Awards have been announced by The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences at a press conference at MIPCOM.
There are 38 nominees in nine categories. Winners will be announced at a Black-Tie Ceremony on November 19, 2007 at the Hilton New York Hotel.
2007 nominations span over 16 countries with a record of seven nominations for Brazil, four for Japan and three for South Africa. This is the first time ever that Colombia is nominated. There is a tie in the Best Performance by An Actor and Comedy categories with five nominees in each category. The competition took place with three rounds of judging over a period of 6 months, with participation from over 500 judges in 35 countries.
“The International Emmy is the preeminent award to recognize creative and production achievements in the international television community,” said Academy President & CEO, Bruce Paisner also President of Hearst Entertainment. “No other award or event presents such a global showcase for excellence in television programming.”
In addition to the presentation of the International Emmy Awards for programming, the Academy will present two special awards.
