Two Emmy Wins For Tudors Irish Crew

Two members of the Irish Film industry recently picked up Emmys for their work on the television series 'The Tudors' in LA.
Joan Bergin, who has worked on other productions such as In The Name of The Father and The Prestige, won in the Outstanding Costumes For a Series category, while Trevor Morris won in the Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music category.
The Emmys, which are the TV equivalent of the Oscars, were awarded to the Irish pair for their work on the first €29 million, 10-episode series which is currently being aired on Tuesday nights on TV3. The series was also shortlisted for both Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera Series and Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series.
The Tudors, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Henry VIII, focuses on the turbulant years of his near 40 year reign as the King of England. The first series was shot last year on location in Ireland while the filming of the second series is currently underway in various locations throughout Dublin and Wicklow.
The Tudors is produced by TM Productions and PA Tudors, with the support of Morgan O'Sullivan's production company World 2000 Entertainment, for the Showtime US TV channel.
It is an official Irish/Canadian co-production and is co-financed by Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board through the IFB international production fund.
This fund encourages international productions to shoot on location in Ireland with Irish cast and crew.
