'Digital Lifestyles' Take Centre Stage At IBC

Digital lifestyles will take centre stage Saturday, Sept. 8, at IBC 2007, as the convention’s daily theme shifts to the digital delivery of content to viewers in the home and on the move.
During the digital lifestyle theme day, conferences will address emerging opportunities to reach these viewers and how best to capitalize from them. While there will be discussion of mobile television, the thrust of the day will be devoted to reaching the home, the car and the office and the interplay between delivery systems.
As part of the theme day, IBC2007 will present:
  • "Digital lifestyles: Service and delivery choices," led by Kate Bulkley, UK journalist. Session participants will include Jean-Charles Hourcade, SEVP and CTO, Thomson, USA; Stuart Collingwood, European VP, Sling Media, UK; Patrick Griffins, Senior Director, Microsoft; and Reo Youngdae Kim, Chairman, Darim Vision, USA.
  • “Connecting content with consumers: What to deliver?” led by Harry Blumdun, partner and co-founder, Fathom Partners. Participants will include Gian Paolo Balboni, head of innovation trends, Telecom Italia Lab, Italy; Andrew McKinnon, Director of Innovation and Corporate Services, Propeller Group, UK; Weijie Yun, President, Telegent Systems, USA; and Richard Warren, Partner, First Partner, UK.
  • “Connecting content with consumers: Where to deliver?” led by Ken Blakeslee, Chairman, WebMobility Ventures. Participants will include Phillip Alvelda, chairman, MobiTV, USA; Will Franks, CEO/founder, Ubiquisys, UK; Mark Bole, CEO, Shozu, UK; Ian Brown, VP of Sales and Marketing, Microvision, USA; Mike Hallett, National Sales Manager, ICUITI, USA.
  • "Predicting the future: Consumer trends and enabling technologies,” led by Hyacinth Nwana, Managing Director, Mobile Media Solutions, Arqiva, UK. Participants will include Oliver Coste, Chairman, Alcatel-Lucent Mobile Broadcast, France; Graeme Packman, Principal Consultant, Understanding and Solutions, UK; Bernard Pauchon, senior VP of Corporate Development, TDF, France; Omar Javaid, VP, QUALCOMM MediaFLO, USA; Claus Sattle, Executive Director, Broadcast Mobile Convergence Forum, Germany; Matthew Honey, Managing Director, Unique Interactive, UK; JaeSeob Shin, CEO/president, Pixtree Technologies, Republic of Korea.
