VidIP To Present Major Innovation At IBC

VidIP will present a major innovation reinforcing the reliability and the availability of the broadcast video transmissions over IP at IBC 2007.
The addition of an innovative hardware-based failover capability to its broadcast live video over IP transmission appliance TSS-110 will also be shown. Hardware-built redundancy allows deployment of high availability broadcast video over IP transmission networks, for mission critical live video transmissions.
Based on the virtualization of the transmission networks, the vidIP redundancy technology authorizes the video switch in real time. This switch is made in broadcast quality from the redundant configuration, vidIP's equipment share the same IP address, enabling almost instantaneous and automatic restoration of all transmission setup parameters, including network connection. With this new feature, vidIP strengthens further the high availability of its broadcast live video over IP transmission solutions.
This technology will be showcased at vidIP's IBC stand 5.112.
VidIP offers a complete range of integrated and self-reliant systems broadcast video over IP transmission networks, independent from the networks (Ethernet, xDSL):
  • The integrated broadcast video transmission solutions the vidIP TSS-110 video router of Mediatvcom features the mechanism FEC (Forward Error Correction), allowing real-time rebuilding of lost IP packets
  • The integrated CDS-11O systems include a compression functionality in Transport Stream (MPEG-2-TS), encapsulating flows with RTP. This standard compliant implementation allow vidIP broadcast video routers over IP to transport all type of digital television formats, from MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-4/H264, VC1, SD to HD and DVB-H
An exclusive technology of vidIP, division of mediatvcom, Gatherlink allows to combine several standard IP broadband access lines (xDSL or Ethernet) into a virtual QoS enabled link. Exceeding the bitrate limit of xDSL technologies, Gatherlink aggregation technology enable to match the bandwidth requirements of live broadcast video transmissions, from 6 to 15 Mb/s.
