Granada International Gains Worldwide Rights To Distribute 'David Beckham: New Beginnings'

Granada International has secured worldwide rights to distribute the documentary 'David Beckham: New Beginnings', which tracks the football superstar’s recent high profile move to Los Angeles.
After playing for two of the biggest clubs in the world, David now faces his biggest challenge yet - to make the sport of soccer popular in the US.
The one off (60 mins) documentary, made by Simon Fuller’s 19 TV, has unprecedented access to David Beckham at this momentous time of change in his life. Over the course of two dramatic months we follow David’s story in Madrid as Real Madrid win La Liga in the last game of the season, his electrifying return to the England Squad and his media-frenzied arrival to his new home town of Los Angeles. The uniquely personal documentary features interviews with David as he reflects on the highs and lows of the last 12 months and what he is hoping for in the next chapter of his sporting career at LA Galaxy.
Bob Massie is the executive producer of David Beckham: New Beginnings. The show was produced by Caroline Mandell and directed by Gary Brooks for 19 TV. With many years’ experience in factual entertainment production, this is the third documentary that Caroline has produced featuring the Beckham family.
Jennifer Harrington, Head of Formats at Granada International commented: “This is a true event documentary that we know will have huge appeal to both soccer supporters and the millions of fans who avidly follow the achievements of one of the world’s most famous men.
David Beckham means a great deal to many people and this documentary gives a fascinating insight into his life as he embarks on his great new adventure in the USA.”
Martha Brass, 19 TV, added: “David Beckham’s move to America has been of great interest to the media and public around the world. Thanks to 19’s uniquely close relationship with David, we have been able to capture all the excitement and interest first hand. It is this level of intimacy that we feel sure Granada International’s network of clients will be keen to acquire.”
