Leader Electronics Promise Major Introductions At IBC 2007

Leader Electronics will be introducing major additions to its range of broadcast test and measurement equipment on stand 11.750 at IBC 2007.
Leader LV5800 four-in-one test instrument. Exhibited in prototype at IBC2006 and now in production, the LV5800 modular multi-monitor platform allows simultaneous viewing of four SDI or HD-SDI sources.
Screens and information shown on the display can optionally be output to any compatible XGA monitor. The LV5800 modular multi-monitor platform enables broadcasters and facility supervisors to define a Dual Link SDI/HD-SDI signal analyser that meets their current requirements while allowing easy future expansion. It retains the intuitive user interface that has proved very popular in the LV5700A and LV5750.
Twin auto-detecting inputs make the LV5800 compliant with all HD-SDI and SD-SDI standards, including 1080p/50 via Dual Link. Automatic signal detection enables the LV5800 to sense the input format, colorimetry and black burst or tri-level external reference input. Monitoring functions include waveform (YCbCr, YRGB, YGBR, GBR or RGB), vector (75% or 100% electronic graticule), five-bars gamut display for easy gamut error detection and correction, picture (with closed caption) and surround-sound monitoring.
Parade, overlay and timing modes allow detailed study of component waveform levels and duration. Digital audio is displayed as 3:1, 3:2, and 3:2:2 surround images, multi-lissajous, digital values in dB combined with error reporting and 8-channel or 16-channel bar-graphs.
The LV5800 provides powerful detection facilities including freeze frame, colour bar, mute and tone audio. A detachable front panel including a high quality 1024 x 768 pixel XGA display can be mounted directly to the hull of a mobile production vehicle or on the back of a camera.
The LT4400 is a 1 U half-rack-width master sync and test pattern generator with a wide range of applications in HD/SD production and post-production. It can generate HD-SDI tri-level sync as well as composite and SDI black simultaneously via six outputs arranged as three pairs. Each pair is independently controllable, including black-burst (PAL or NTSC) with independent timing. Genlock recovery features are also available to match the requirements of specific systems. In addition to its sync-generation capabilities, it provides HD-SDI and SD-SDI test patterns including colour bars and checkerboard. A logo bug and up to 16 characters of source ID can be superimposed on the test pattern output. Up to 16 channels of user-assignable audio tones or click can be embedded.
