Kanal 22 TV & Film AB Choose InfoCaster Digital Signage Systems From Harris Corporation

Kanal 22 TV & Film AB has chosen InfoCaster digital signage systems from Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company, as part of one of the largest digital signage networks in Europe.
The systems will be used for Folkets Hus & Parker (FHP), better known in Sweden as The National Federation of People's Parks and Community Centers, one of Europe's largest digital cinema chains.
"After evaluating a number of digital signage systems, we chose to invest in the InfoCaster system because of its impressive functionality, high quality and solid reputation," said Conny Bunjevac, chief executive officer for Kanal 22 TV & Film AB. "With a single InfoCaster workstation, we can provide a multizone layout consisting of 3D animations, resizable high-quality video, crawls, banners and text content to a local display screen.
"The InfoCaster system from Harris has a proven track record in Sweden where it's in operation at multiple restaurant outlets across the country," Bunjevac continued. "We decided that the solution's video quality, ease of use and ability to provide a distributed network made it the perfect match for our customer's needs."
InfoCaster is a versatile and cost-effective, out-of-the-box digital signage solution for communicating messages and promotions. It allows users to create and display information from different sources in a variety of fields, banners and crawls. At FHP cinemas, this capability is used both to provide film information and to display advertising for local companies.
"InfoCaster offers a comprehensive solution for creating, managing and delivering compelling digital signage displays, and is ideal for an application of this size," said Dave Dougall, vice president of sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa for the Harris Broadcast Communications Division. "Systems can be expanded from a single display to an extensive digital signage network that includes hundreds of InfoCaster players - all of which can be updated from a single location."
A turnkey solutions provider for public advertising sales, Kanal 22 TV & Film AB has an exclusive, five-year agreement to sell and distribute digital commercials at more than 40 cinemas in Sweden within the FHP organization, which has more than 800 members and attracts more than 50 million visitors annually. Kanal 22 also will distribute live sports, concerts, operas and theatre programmes at these cinema locations using the InfoCaster system to create a more informative and interactive environment. For instance, the company could provide live betting during a live sporting event using local displays on an InfoCaster network - producing a new entertainment option and potentially generating additional revenue streams for the cinemas.
Each cinema in 40 locations across Sweden also will roll out public screens at restaurants, pubs, cafes, gyms and hotels to build a public information system and media channel for local information and advertising. In this way, Kanal 22 will be able to provide digital signage solutions in a variety of public areas, which can be customized to meet the needs of each customer. Kanal 22 also has developed a Web-based interface enabling customers to easily update their screen at any time, and for media sales partners to see available advertising time slots on public screens locally, regionally and nationwide in order to book advertising.
