Freemantle Celebrate Success Of Classic Gameshows

FremantleMedia, producer and licensor of 'The Price Is Right' and 'Family Feud' brands as well as some of the most popular classic gameshows in the world, is setting its sights on building its presence in the new media space.
"The Price Is Right and Family Feud are timeless brands that have extremely loyal fan bases. Fans have proven their desire to experience these programs in ways that help them relive the excitement they have enjoyed on the television for so many years," said David Luner, Senior Vice President, Interactive & Consumer Products, North America. "The online and mobile platforms have proven extremely successful for these brands and we’ll continue to grow them in these platforms that keep the properties exciting and relevant to younger and older fans alike."
Celebrating its 35th anniversary, major changes are in store for one of the most popular gameshows in television history, as beloved host Bob Barker will be passing the microphone to a new host. FremantleMedia will capitalize on the momentum caused by this headline-grabbing event to introduce new interactive platforms including a new downloadable online game from Ludia, Inc along with electronic tabletop and handheld games from iToys.
With new host John O’Hurley at the helm, Family Feud remains one of the most watched gameshows on television. The successful licensing program for the show has already moved well beyond the traditional apparel and board games and claimed its spot as one of the most popular mobile games from Mobliss. An online game from iWin also boasts a loyal following with daily gamers logging on to get the Family Feud fix.
At Licensing 2007 International, FremantleMedia will announce all-new ways for fans to interact and experience the survey style gameshow. Some of the new games include a skill based online game with Worldwinner, Inc., electronic tabletop and handheld games from iToys, and a downloadable online game from iWin that allows gamers to play for free.
FremantleMedia has also created a targeted licensing program for other favorite classic gameshows with licensees for Match Game, Press Your Luck, Password, To Tell the Truth, Card Sharks, Let’s Make A Deal and more in a number of categories including apparel, video games, online games, slot machines, board games and lottery tickets.
Licensing 2007 International will be used as an opportunity to sign additional partners in sleepwear/loungewear, headwear, party goods, toys, video games, wireless games and interactive categories.
