Top Soho engineer joins root6
One of Soho's most respected engineers, Phil Crawley, has joined technology reseller root6 as Head of Special Projects.
The newly created role will see Crawley responsible for introducing a systems integration service to complement the company's existing business. Additionally, he will be responsible for the ongoing hardware development and manufacturing for root6's soon to be announced product range, including Beambox, the media coding/distribution set-top-box developed by root6 for BEAM.TV.
Crawley joins root6 from post house Resolution, where he has served as Head of Engineering and IT for four years. During that time, he designed and built the company's 26-suite facility in Old Street and, more recently, a 46' mobile truck already used for the posting of 'Big Brother III' and 'Fame Academy.'
A graduate in Maths and Programming, Crawley spent five years in TV news engineering at the BBC before joining Carlton Broadcast Facilities and then Oasis, where he served as Chief Engineer prior to joining Resolution.
