Soundelux Get Bafta Recognition For Casino Royale

London's leading sound facility, Soundelux, have announced that their Creative Director Eddy Joseph and Sound Designer Martin Cantwell have won the 2007 'Sound' BAFTA for Casino Royale.
The first of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels, Casino Royale shows the iconic secret agent at the start of his career, having just been promoted to double-o status.
Soundelux's Eddy Joseph thrilled with his win said: "Director Martin Campbell's brief to us was to make the sound a raw, transitional experience for the audience. So instead of creating a dense, multilayered sound design for the film, the soundscape is made up of many carefully chosen individual elements that are based on the scene and the setting. You get a cleaner sounding film that really tells the story."
The awards, now in their sixtieth year were hosted by Jonathan Ross and held at the Royal Opera House, London. The Academy's Film Awards began in 1947 and have always been an international event. They continue to be presented annually to recognize, honour and reward individuals for outstanding achievement in feature and short films produced worldwide and released in UK cinemas.
