OmniTek To Demonstrate V2.1 For Waveform Monitors At VideoForum

Innovative test and measurement manufacturer OmniTek will be demonstrating the new software release V2.1 for the Omnitek TQ, XR and LAB waveform monitors on booth 124 at this year’s Video Forum.
The upgraded software release includes: enhanced audio analysis options for the TQ and XR systems and improved error logging and reporting capabilities for the TQ, XR and LAB monitoring systems.
The new 2.1 software release will provide TQ and XR high-resolution waveform monitors with a comprehensive upgrade to all the audio analysis options. The metering displays have been dramatically enhanced to include support for a wide range of different ballistics and graticules, such as the various Scandinavian options, BBC, and EBU specifications. Multi-channel external AES-EBU audio inputs and outputs are now fully supported, and Dolby–E metering with comprehensive metadata extraction is completely integrated into the system. Another unique feature of the OmniTek TQ is the ability to measure A/V relative lip-sync delay on the raw Dolby-E embedded data, without having to perform a decode operation.
“The range and precision of our audio monitoring capabilities now far exceeds that which is normally expected of a traditional waveform monitor,” Hodson commented. “Our design team has been working closely with major broadcasters in Europe and the USA, in order to tailor the audio monitoring options precisely to the needs of the industry.”
To assist in broadcast quality control applications, the error logging and reporting capabilities of the OmniTek system have also been significantly enhanced in new releases for LAB, TQ, and XR waveform monitors. The improved logging features include the ability to have multiple simultaneous logging sessions, a variety of different stop/start trigger mechanisms, greatly improved gamut and range error calculation mechanisms, and a new easy-to-use setup and configuration menu system.
Hodson added: “Whatever the application: broadcast, post-production, transmission, or video R&D, there is an OmniTek product tailored to suit the customer’s exact needs. And with the new feature line-up for NAB 2007, we believe that in every aspect of video and audio signal monitoring, the OmniTek system provides the most advanced, flexible, and easy-to-use features available anywhere in the world.”
