Inside Pictures Film Business Training Programme Opens For Applications

Inside Pictures, the respected film business training programme, will be accepting applications from October 9, 2006 and is particularly encouraging regional candidates to apply.
From this year, it will be one of the film industry programmes presented by the Film Business Academy at Cass Business School, and will be enhanced by the addition of business skills training such as leadership skills, business planning and entrepreneurship.
Comprising three intensive one-week modules, Inside Pictures takes place in London and Los Angeles between March and July 2007. Seminars, workshops and studio visits are hosted by some of the US and UK’s most senior industry professionals. The programme covers all aspects of the international film business - from development through production, financing, worldwide distribution, marketing and exhibition. It also provides considerable networking and profile raising opportunities for the participants.
The successful applicants will be up to 15 executives and producers who display ambition, a determination to broaden their knowledge of the global film industry, desire to expand their network of high level contacts and develop leadership skills. They will probably have at least 5 years’ experience in film or an associated creative industry such as television.
Terry Ilott, Director of the Film Business Academy, said: “Inside Pictures is a well-established and highly-respected programme and the Film Business Academy is the perfect home for it. Up until now Inside Pictures has been one of a very small number of business training programmes for those working in the film industry. The launch of the Film Business Academy sends a strong message from industry leaders that we are heavily investing in the business of film and we expect Inside Pictures to benefit from the expertise contained at Cass and its close ties to the City of London.”
Inside Pictures is presented by the Film Business Academy at Cass Business School, delivered by Qwerty Films and supported by Skillset and the UK Film Council. The Film Business Academy is supported by Skillset and the UK Film Council as part of A Bigger Future – the UK Film Skills Strategy.
North West Vision, Screen East and Screen Yorkshire are sponsoring the programme. The LA module is supported by the UK Film Council LA office.
Application forms can be downloaded from: www.inside-pictures.com
The deadline for applications is November 17, 2006.
