Sennheiser Present New Camera Receiver

RF wireless specialist Sennheiser presents a new slot-in receiver for professional cameras.
The EK 3241 has a switching bandwidth of 36 MHz and frequencies that can be tuned in steps of 5 kHz, making the true-diversity receiver the perfect partner for Sennheisers current transmitter models SKM 5200 and SK 5212.
Frequency-agile products are in greater demand than ever as frequency resources become increasingly scarce. Sennheiser has therefore developed a new tuner module for its true-diversity camera receiver and given this lightweight model (200g) the capacity for reliable, flexible RF wireless transmission. Thirty two custom frequencies have already been programmed within the switching bandwidth of 36 MHz, and in addition the user is free to program another 20 frequencies in steps of 5 kHz into the user bank.
The receiver can be easily and intuitively operated with a completely new user interface, which is similar to that of the SK 5212 bodypack transmitter. The EK 3241 displays the battery status of the transmitter in detail, and the receiver is extremely reliable with a weatherproof and robust full-metal case.
As an option, it is possible to activate the command function of the EK 3241, with which the receiver opens a second audio channel.
Astrid Vettin, Sennheiser's Product Manager for Professional Systems commented: "When used with a transmitter with command function, you can operate a second audio channel between the transmitter and the mixing panel. Depending on the selected mode, it is then possible to switch between audio channel and command channel or to add on the command channel. The command button can also be used for the cough function or to send the audio signal to the monitor position twice to save using a split box with smaller set-ups."
With a choice of various adapter kits, the EK 3241 fits into the slots of Sony, Ikegami, Panasonic and Thomson cameras. The mini-receiver can be attached to other camera types in a special slot-in housing; the EK 3241 then gets its power from a battery adapter with battery packs.
With the new EK 3241, TV production companies, TV stations and rental companies will have an absolutely professional camera receiver in use.
