Solid State Logic Announces Multiple Orders For C100 Digital Broadcast Console

Oxford UK based Solid State Logic is reporting "overwhelming demand" for the C100 Digital Broadcast Console.
In recent months, broadcasters throughout North America have taken delivery of C100 consoles, in some cases housing as many as four C Series consoles.
CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Company, recently purchased its fourth C Series console, for a new HD remote broadcast truck. The custom C148/64 is a duplicate of an earlier installation of a C148/64 in CBC's inaugural HD remote broadcast truck named "HD Premier." CBC also recently installed a C140 for national news and a C264 in their Toronto HD entertainment production studio.
"CBC is really committed to SSL, which I'm very happy about," notes longtime CBC engineer and now freelancer Howard Baggley, who was hired to recommend a console for the broadcaster's HD-ready remote truck. "From the moment I sat behind the C100, I knew I had found a console that was designed for live television broadcast. It's all the things you need as a live TV mixer. It's a great desk."
In the US, CBS has made a similar commitment to SSL consoles with a raft of CBS programmes relying on a trio of C Series consoles: a C232 in post-production suite APP1, a C140 in Studio 58, and a C156 with custom patchbay integration in Studio 33.
"CBS's historic Studio 33, Carol Burnett's studio and the home of The Price is Right for the last two decades, is in constant use," notes Phil Wagner, SSL President. "We supplied CBS's C156 with custom patchbays and cabling, allowing Studio 33's control room to be reconfigured with their new digital console in two weeks."
On the East Coast, ABC has installed C100 consoles for a variety of applications. At the network's New York headquarters, TV3, site of the prestigious World News Tonight, features a C156, while TV24, home of The View, houses a C140. Another C140 is being installed at the network's Washington DC News Bureau.
E. W. Scripps Howard Company recently installed a C132 in the new control room of ABC affiliate WEWS-TV in Cleveland, while another Scripps-owned station, WFTS in Tampa, features a C132. Food Network's celebrated New York City studios, another Scripps-owned entity, features a C132.
Recently, WTFX, owned and operated by FOX Television stations, installed two C140 consoles in their completely renovated Philadelphia-based facility.
"Throughout the development and introduction of the C100, we were confident that we were creating a console that met and exceeded the current and future needs of busy broadcast facilities," says Steve Zaretsky, Vice President, Broadcast Sales, Solid State Logic. "The industry's response validates our efforts, and we are thrilled that so many facilities have chosen to install multiple C Series consoles."
