Gefen Unveils Two New DVI and HD SDI Adapters Featuring External Genlock Real-Time Control

Gefen is building on the success of its HD SDI and DVI Adapters with the release of two enhanced versions.
Like their predecessors, both the DVI to HD SDI Adapter and the HD SDI to DVI Adapter feature an up/down scaler to allow for custom tailoring of image resolution including both standard and high definition resolutions up to 1080p.
These two new models also feature external genlock control, enabling post-production and broadcast professionals to reference the input source into the master clock for high-end digital and high definition feed control.
Both the DVI to HD SDI Adapter and the HD SDI to DVI Adapter incorporate Gennum’s proprietary VXP technology, boasting:

• Sharpness and detail enhancement for strikingly pure, lifelike imagery
• True dual-channel processing capability for unparalleled multi-image display
• Next generation 3D noise reduction and compression artefact reduction for high-definition video
• Robust film-mode detection and processing

Gefen’s DVI and HD SDI Adapters offer scaling options conveniently accessible on the full-screen intuitive menu that allows for easy, instantaneous selection and retrieval of preferences to save time.
“Not only do these Scalers offer a high-definition conversion of different digital formats, but they allow either DVI or SDI inputs to be synched into the master system - an added bonus for professionals,” said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO of Gefen.
Shown for the first time at IBC on stand 7.230, both new Gefen Adapters are expected to be available by the end of Q4 2006.
