TV2GO Chooses FOR-A HD Frame Rate Converter For Trans-Atlantic HD Video Conversions

TV2GO, an international satellite transmission and video production company, recently installed an FRC-7000 HD frame rate converter for standards conversion of European and North American programming.
TV2GO’s teleport offers satellite and fibre connectivity between North America and South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Recently, the company has served increasingly as a gateway between Europe and North America, providing European-generated sports programming to North America and vice versa.
The FRC-7000 uses motion compensation processing by motion vectors to convert field frequencies and enables conversion between different HD frame rates. It is ideal for converting the frame rate prior to transmitting at international sporting events. The FRC-7000 can convert frame rates between 1080/59.94i and 50i, and between 720/59.94p and 50p. Other formats will also be available soon, including 23.98sF.
TV2GO received the converter this June. Its official launch was with Game 7 of the Stanley Cup championships that same month. The game was converted to 1080I 50 for HD re-broadcast to Canal and in Sweden, marking the first North America to Europe HD transmission.
TV2GO is currently producing recordings of live events with the FRC-7000 for American networks interested in re-broadcasting European HD sports programs.
Established in Japan in 1971, and with over 400 people at offices worldwide, FOR-A is a leading manufacturer and distributor of video and audio systems to the broadcast, post-production and security markets. Its product line-up includes high quality digital video switchers, colour correctors, image stabilisers, high-resolution cameras and virtual studio software.
